Project Management with Airtable Interface Designer: Writer’s Edition

My Writing Contest Dashboards are intended to help writers track and analyze statuses, fees, potential prize amounts and publications for writing contests they've submitted to, been declined for, and committed to completing. Filters are used extensively and strategically throughout the dashboards for clean and consistent functionality. The Submission Tracker visualizes statistics on the breakdown of submission statuses, fees, and potential awards. It also features a record editor/adder at the bottom for convenience. The Declined Submission Analysis Tool helps writers gain insights into contest entry performance. It breaks down the fees paid and prize amounts within declined status submissions. The analysis tool displays insights into publisher trends from Duotrope as well as an attachment gallery to assist the user in maximizing their future entries' chance of success. The To-Do List breaks down upcoming submission deadlines with a calendar, fee summary, and potential prizes. It features a cheat sheet using the record picker element to help writers prepare for their submissions by viewing the contest details, submission link, and publisher insights from Duotrope (including editor interviews, if available) all in one neat section. There is even a button to change the status of an application after submitting it, moving it out of that part of the interface and into the Submission Tracker. Finally, there is a form to add new submissions to the tracker. I use Airtable for work and personal life, and this interface started as a personal submission tracker for writing contests, which I was inspired to start pursuing as a side hustle after winning 1st place in a writing competition I thought I had no chance of winning. Since the nerd in me loves data and the ADHD in me loves visuals and nested data, I decided to build this base out further as something writers could use to get insights into the writing and publication competition market. After importing my submissions from Submittable, I interconnected the submission and contest details with expansions to publisher insights from Duotrope. With the additional tables in the base, writers can add relevant information regarding publishers and contests to help them strategically plan their contest submissions.
